This course conducted by Impact Training will ensure you will acquire the skills and knowledge required to perform defibrillation on a casualty in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.

Course Duration

This is 3 1/2 hour face to face practical training course.

Course Content

This course is delivered by Impact Training which covers both theory and practical topics which include:

• Assess casualty and develop management plan
• Check defibrillation equipment
• Attach and operate a defibrillation equipment
• Recover and restore defibrillation equipment

Course Purpose

This course has been designed for individuals to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to make them confident and competent to provide immediate defibrillation to a casualty.The practical training aims to provide you with the knowledge and confidence to provide you the ability to operate a defibrillator in an emergency.

Pre-requisites

You will be required to have a current CPR certificate and a Senior First Certificate or equalivent. Students must be at least 16 years of age and can be enrolled by a parent/ guardian to attend.

Assessment

Impact Training offers a hands on approach with progressive assessments throughout the course including multiple choice questions, practical use of a defibrillator and a completion of a workbook.

Award

On successful completion of this course you will receive a Statement of Attainment - Operate a semi-automatic Defibrillator in an Emergency (PUAOPE010A).

One form of photo ID will be required to be shown on the day of the course. Suitable ID includes a Drivers Licence, Passport, NSW RTA photo ID card or Birth Card.
