Impact First Aid Training conducts this course which prepares staff to provide first response care in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines when required to recognise and respond to life threatening emergencies using basic life support measures.

Course Duration

This course requires 5 hours of face to face class training. You will receive the Impact basic life support manual a full colour professionally presented manual at course registration.

Course Content

This course is delivered by Impact Training which incorporates the learning elements of the nationally recognised unit HLTFA201A Provide Basic Emergency Life Support.

Course Purpose

The course provides you with the confidence to be able to deal with basic first aid emergencies using CPR and other basic techniques until the arrival of paramedics.

Pre-requisites

There are no pre-requisites for this competency unit. Students must be at least 14 years of age and can be enrolled by a parent/ guardian to attend.

Assessment

Impact Training offers a hands on approach with progressive assessments throughout the course including multiple choice questions, practical CPR and bandaging and other first aid emergency scenarios. This is competency based training, so we will ensure that you have a thorough understanding of basic emergency response including CPR before you go home.

Award

On successful completion of this course you will receive a Statement of Attainment - Provide Basic Emergency Life Support (HLTFA201A), as per the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and the national competencies. Please note that the CPR unit is required to be updated every 12 months.
