Provisional - 1A/1G Unarmed Guard and 1C Crowd Controller

With recent changes within the NSW Security Industry and the implementation of the CPP07 Property Services Training Package, new entrants are required to obtain a statement of attainment respective of the licence classes they wish to hold and duties they wish to perform.

The NSW Security Licensing and Enforcement Directorate has selected units of competency required for licencing from the CPP07 Property Services Training Package for the following licences 1A - Unarmed Guard, 1C - Crowd Controller and 1G - Retail Loss Prevention Officer

Classroom delivered units:

  • CPPSEC2001A Communicate effectively in the security industry
  • CPPSEC2002A Follow workplace safety procedures in the security industry
  • CPPSEC2003A Work effectively in the security industry
  • CPPSEC2004A Respond to security risk situation
  • CPPSEC2005A Work as part of a security team
  • CPPSEC2006A Provide security services to clients
  • CPPSEC2009A Give evidence in court
  • CPPSEC3002A Manage conflict through negotiation
  • CPPSEC2010A Protect safety of persons
  • CPPSEC2011A Control access to and exit from premises
  • CPPSEC2012A Monitor and control individual crowd behaviour
  • CPPSEC2014A Operate basic security equipment
  • CPPSEC2015A Patrol premises
  • CPPSEC2017A Proct self and others using basic defensive techniques*
  • CPPSEC3013A Control persons using empty hand techniques*
  • TLIE707B Use communication systems

*denotes that the unit of competency is not a current requirement for the relevant licence class, but is proposed to be introduced at a latter stage.

Once you have successfully completed all the above units you then are issued a statement of attainment for the units listed above the dotted line. It is then a requirement from the NSW SLED that you are then assessed in your workplace a minimum of two (2) times on the units below the dotted line before being issued a full CPP20207 Certificate II in Security Operations and obtaining a full unrestricted NSW Security Licence.

Note: A Senior First Aid certificate bearing Workcover NSW's 'FA' approval number or a Statement of Attainment for competency unit HLTFA301B (apply First Aid) is also required when you apply for a licence.
