Armed Robbery Awareness Course
Impact Training Services has been operating since 1989 and is a Registered Training Organisation with NSW VETAB and delivers a range of nationally accredited qualifications. Impact specializes in conducting both entry level and advance Security Guard Training, Technical Access and Security Risk Management courses together with NSW WorkCover OHS courses. Impact Training has also conducts OHS and security audits. As the likelihood of violence in the workplace continues to rise, it is important staff are appropriately trained in preventative and reactive strategies to cope with high-risk situations. Course:
Delivery
approach to the delivery of training to enhance the participant’s achievement of practical knowledge and skill development in an enjoyable and supportive environment. Contents The course covers the following areas:
· Introduction to Robbery and the Workplace · Current Trends - Statistics and Facts About Robbery · Security Awareness & Elements of Robbery Prevention · Robbery Response Principles – What should I do · Post Incident Actions – Crime Scene Units can be tailored for your company’s specific needs to compliment and reinforce your organizations existing workplace violence and armed robbery policies and procedures.
Duration
The Course is of a 4 hour duration.
Venue
The course would be conducted on your premises at a suitable time. Resources
needed would be a suitable size room, an overhead projector, TV video unit and refreshments for your staff. The training is conducted in an informal manner allowing staff to enjoy the serious but intense training program. Alternatively, the course can be conducted at our training rooms at our office at Dapto.
About the Course Impact’s Armed Robbery Awareness course will not terrorize or scare your staff, like some other courses that suppose to prepare employees for an armed robbery. Indeed such training could cause the onset of panic and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder symptoms even from staged training exercises involving violence and trauma and this can incur compensation problems for you the employer. We do not rely on video or CD presentations as they will not prepare your staff for a traumatic event such as an armed robbery. Face to face tutoring, active role plays, ego boosting exercises and a thorough debriefing is what Impact delivers. Staff actively participate in creating scenarios for the Armed Robbery Awareness workshop component, this helps to remove anxiety and promote team building among staff. Participants role-play confrontation situations and learn valuable communication skills. Training workbooks are supplied to all participants, staff are informally assessed through observation and participation, certificates of participation will be issue and all other training aids will be supplied by Impact. Assessment: Informally and formally by observation. Fee The fee for the Armed Robbery Awareness training will be $P.O.A plus GST for a group of up to18 people per workshop course.
